Troop 40 visited the US Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio
On this campout, we camped at Lincoln's New Salem Historic Site , we toured the State Capital , Lincoln's Tomb , the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial , The Korean War Veteran's Memorial, Springfield Botanical Gardens, The Governor's Mansion , Lincoln's Home , and Lincoln's New Salem Village.
Our Boys at the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial. We arrived 10 minutes before
ceremonies to remember the 25th anniversary of the removal of troops
from Vietnam. The veterans invited the boys to take part in the
flag ceremony. They also got a front row seat for the ceremony, and
they were featured on Springfield T.V.

We started on the Fox River at Yorkville and camped overnight at Sheridan, and continued the next day.
We camped at the Blackwell Forest Preserve in Warrenville, Illinois.
One group of boys tried their luck fishing, another group hiked 20 miles on the Illinois Prairie Path. Another group biked 50 miles in one day on the Illinois Prairie Path.
We camped at Starved Rock State Park.
